Several years ago, while running the Iceland marathon with her husband, Kate stumbled across an old VW van that had been restored and converted into a mobile prosecco bar. Kate fell in love with the concept and told her husband that one day, she would have her own mobile bar. She’s been working towards that goal ever since. By early 2021, Kate had saved enough money to finally take the leap and had a trailer built out. In the summer of 2021, Flutes and Foam was officially launched.
Kate’s plan is to carve out a niche for herself within the events and entertainment space here in CT. Her goal is to become an established vendor by securing regular gigs with venues, companies, and private parties. Eventually, Kate would like to grow her business to offer a fleet of mobile bars throughout the North East. “Part of the inspiration for launching Flutes and Foam is to provide a platform for moms to manage the mobile bars once I have expanded, imparting the opportunity have control over their work schedules while providing for their families, say Kate.”
Kate’s target demographic is adults who throw large events, such as weddings and other celebrations. When you’re looking for a mobile bar, it’s because you know your guests deserve premium drinks and the best service possible. Flutes and Foam has already done all the hard work for you.

"I am an immigrant from South Africa, I arrived in the United States at 19 years old with a suitcase and $50 in my pocket. I had nothing and knew no one. Over the last 17 years, I have managed to build a beautiful life for myself by working for everything I have. Throughout the years of hustling the one thing, I knew I needed was a community. Desperately seeking like-minded individuals with who I could lean on to ease my homesickness and with who I could build the foundation of my life in the States. Some of these communities included a local dojo on the Upper West Side, a marathon run club, book clubs, knitting groups, swim club, moms’ groups, the list is endless. That's the thing about being an immigrant, you have to immerse yourself completely, jumping in with both feet if you want any chance of surviving. The idea of my Flutes and Foam trailer isn’t one of just providing fun cocktails and champagne at events, it’s one of the community too. Being a part of something special, immersing myself within the group, being someone of value within the community, and sharing a little booze, I have found never hurts."
